1. Vehicle and China-side costs

Start with the exact model, trim, production year and condition. China-side costs may include transport from the supplier to the export port, inspection, export documentation, port handling and other preparation charges. These items are often included in FOB or CIF quotations, but they should still be listed clearly.

2. Ocean freight and insurance

Freight varies by destination port, shipment method, vehicle size, sailing schedule and market conditions. Marine insurance protects the shipment according to the policy terms. When comparing CIF offers, confirm the named destination port and the insurance coverage rather than assuming delivery to your final address.

3. Destination charges

Destination costs can include terminal handling, documentation, customs broker fees, storage, inspection, inland transport and local delivery. These charges are outside the vehicle price and may not be included in an FOB or CIF quote.

4. Duties, taxes and registration

Import duty, VAT, excise tax, registration fees and homologation requirements depend on the destination country and vehicle category. Confirm these amounts with a local customs broker or authority because they can change and are not the same for every EV, hybrid or gasoline car.
